What is it you hate?

Have you thought of mounting the tv on the wall where the baby pictures are and having the sofa under the window wrapping to back wall? Then have the large swivel chair facing sofa, to the left of the tv if looking at it. Getting rid of the tv cabinet will open up the space. Toys should go to child's room or a closet and bring out ones they play with and then put back. Put the tall floor lamp in the corner behind the sectional. Maybe you could put bookcases flanking the large opening and store toys, books, etc in baskets. The chair and a half...maybe use it in your master for reading with the kids??

First thing I notice is how heavy everything feels....because of the dark furniture, paint and accessories. If keeping all the furniture I would suggest pairing the brown with some lighter colors...window treatments, throw pillows, a rug. Are you entertaining thoughts of repainting? If you're open to painting the oak trim, I would paint that white. A fresh color on the wall would help immensely. Not sure how to arrange with a curved sectional...options seem limited.

The first thing I noticed is the haphazard placement of items on wall. It's like as time went on you filled up every blank space instead of actually thinking about what goes where. I would take everything off the walls and only put up the artwork. Sectionals can be separated ... Right? If you could ditch one large chair than could you keeps half the sectional where it is and put the other half on the opposite side? I'd also remove the shelf near the TV.
