Can you specify the growing conditions such as the lighting, temperatures, soil type, and fertilization regimen?

If you do not give it favorable conditions, the energy that the leaf accumulates could easily be less than the energy it took to produce the leaf resulting in a net loss in starches. It could be that your greenhouse is not warm enough, doesn't give the plant enough light, or your soil mix could lack the drainage it needs for proper root development.

stevelau 1911 To the best of my knowledge everything was within the range of acceptable except fertilization. As it was out of my control and I only saw it 2-3 times last year I can only assume some things. I have not contacted the"caretaker" but I am almost positive that

Sounds like you may simply need better soil conditions too because drainage issues can easily cause roots to die off on a delicate plant like this, and a strong root system is necessary for healthy growth. If you don't see it that often, then it must be tough to water, and fertilize.

I think the soil is O.K.. The nursery where it was "Boarded" took care of it or at least I thought they would. But that is in the past and I have it again. At least I do not have to worry about it getting too large this summer!
