I agree with sooz. I think the layout looks really nice and a lamp on the table will look too crowded. A floor lamp would be better in terms of giving some height variation.

Beautiful couch. I don't think you need that table there, since you have the other table with a lamp on it on other side. I would move the small accent table next to the chair and place a small vase with flowers on it...or nothing at all.
