Tub decision

1920s Tampa Bungalow remodel.

Original plan was to pull out old cast iron tub and replace with a four piece Sterling tub/shower enclosure. (I'm currently in the process of installing the shower version of this in another location, so am fairly comfortable with the process.) Will also be tearing out several old layers of linoleum tiles, plywood etc. that have accumulated over the decades and replacing with tile.

My lovely partner in crime is now thinking she would prefer full tile treatment and a romantic clawfoot tub instead. My first thought was that this is a total change of direction and involves (possibly) much more work.

I haven't investigated prices yet, so that is still a variable.

We are moving to our retirement home in two or three(?) years, so I'm hesitant to invest as much into this house as the next one.

I've lived with freestanding tubs before and remember them as hard to clean under and behind.

This would probably involve more floor and wall refinishing that the enclosure would. There has been some water leakage into the walls, but they are solid old pine frames.
