Love the pillows! I would do a grouping over bed.

Hi, I would stay away from more brown in your accessories. It's all kind of baby poop brown right now. If you are afraid of color, try some beautiful fabrics in neutrals, such as linen, silk etc. A beautiful set of linen drapes, maybe a sisal rug too for some texture.
This is my last post on this site, sorry I'm so over large oversized brown furniture and huge black and brown leather sectionals and sofas.
Guess this isn't my design style.

Hm, okay. @SandyC., wow, baby poop. Not what I expected...the 2 side tables are actually light grey with mirrored fronts, not dark brown. It's a mix of the 2 pieces that are dark wood, and light grey, and I think the idea was the white would really balance it out. I really love it but also am not afraid of color.

These are what's at the side of the bed right now.

Is the bed king or queen? 3 Euro pillows for king, 2 for queen. Put the pillows you sleep on against headboard, then the euros, then 2 standard, then a decorative pillow. You want the height to slope down towards the mattress. Picture is dark so hard to tell colors. The pillows on chair are great, if you can get a rectangular one use that as your decorative pillow on bed. I think the art over the chest is great you should pull that into the room with your accessories, in which case you need different pillows on the chairs

Great space. Love your idea of adding sheers. I think it will make your room feel finished. I would hang the rod high-just a few inches from the ceiling to create an illusion of high ceilings.

Not crazy about the area rug-too dark and doesn't work with your pillows. Love the chairs and think adding the stool would be a nice touch.

OKChristine- for me what is throwing this nice bedroom off is the 2 matching chairs at the end of the bed;( You have gone too matchy matchy. 2 matching windows, 2 matching nightstands, 2 matching lamps, 2 matching chairs with 2 matching pillows. I would put a bench at the end of the bed. No art over the headboard, and drape panels on the windows;)

Thank you! @Margo and @Karen Dumont... when I put the panels up, the question is, I have that weird ceiling that the right side can be about 88" before it starts to slant in. Kind of like that William T. Baker Photo you posted @Karen Dumont, except the slant isn't on all 4 sides. It's an additional gable from the front of house. So the windows behind bed I *could* make even with that, or I could do a matching shade or valance on the right side. That way, I could get prob 92" height behind bed. Does that make sense? Couldn't go higher because of the ceiling slant. Think trapezoid. I was very torn about this, *not* because I like matchy-matchy, but because I wanted the height but couldn't on one side.

Confusing myself.

@jck910. Yes, it's a king-size. Thank you, that was very helpful! I know, it's too bad picture is dark. It's a big bedroom, so I had a really hard time getting a good shot! Nice camera, bounce flash, all of it...tough! I don't know how the pros do it. :-)

Personally, I would use panels at the window height because of that window on the left side. I would not use a valance on that other window. I guess I am an *all or nothing* person;)

I would do panels on rods (no valances) with nice finials and call it a day. Do they need to be blackout lined? A stool is great between the chairs, I like the one you picked.

Hi Christine. I love your room! Here are my thoughts. Due to the ceiling height issue, I'd skip drapes and do nice neutral roman shades on those windows. I think the windows are great sizes for romans and it would look very nice. Please try to go to the side of the bed to take close ups of the bedding. I'm a big fan of RH bedding (I have it too) and would love to see what you have going on but the picture is too dark. Does the front bed pillow go with the chair pillows? I would get three euros for a king size bed. I love the chair pillows but think they compete with the art above the dresser. I'd keep the chair pillows and move the art elsewhere. I love the look of a garden stool between armless chairs, but am a bit concerned the pattern on that one might compete with the chair pillow pattern. Maybe a less "busy" garden stool or different small round table with a white top. Let me go look what West Elm and Z Gallerie might have. I would definitely not put art over that pretty headboard.

Here are some West Elm tables that I think might do a better job of not fighting with the nice chair pillows. This garden stool had a tighter, smaller pattern - a bit less like the pillows, which I think is good. My favorite of this group might be the metal base table with the bone top.

Hi Christine, I see your dilemma about the slanted ceiling. I have the same issue in my bedroom but was able to work around it. I already had shutters for privacy but wanted to sheers to add softness-roman shades would not have been practical for me because we face our neighbor's home. Anyway, I was able to hang the rod just above the window casing and it looks great. You are welcome to go into my ideabook under master bedrooms to see how it looks. Agree with Margo-just do panels at the same height on all windows. Like them matching. Of course, if you don't need privacy, you could do roman shades as suggested by Ann. The disadvantage of roman shades is they are difficult to operate on a regular basis; I only use them on windows where I can leave them opened...just for the nice look of the fabric. Hope this makes sense.

Karen, we bought romans for my granddaughter's bedrooms from Pottery Barn and you just pull them down - no cords or anything. Then, to get them back up, just a little tug and they take themselves back up. I have shutters but I think those romans are even easier to close then my shutters.

Hi, I will come back and post a photo of the linens when I get a chance. But it is Italian Block Print Floral from RH and the Italian Heirloom Coverlet (that currently I have folded at the end of the bed.)

And what I'm hearing is the pillows compete with other things (print, potentially the Garden Stool), but ultimately pillows are replaceable. So, if I were to change something, it would be that. I just bought the pair on a whim for $20, LOL! I loved the pop of color. Something I definitely love in general.

Hello!! Nice room, you are really doing a great job! I too love the pop of the pillows on the chairs and the night stands in person must sparkle! There are many things to consider. Style, budget and easy of use. Then you make the best decisions for you based on all that. This process thought wonderful!! could confuse you even more. From what I see with the headboard you really don't have room for panels on those end windows. You have nice blinds that I would work around. Personally I love pops of fabric!

Here are some ideas for LAYOUT I found online...not colors or style mind you. One images shows how trying to do drapes without enough room could look....squished. Another shows how to do different styles but make the looks and fabrics work (not a fan of the canopy though)....and the other shows how much room you would need if you wanted panels to work nicely. Personally I feel their mirror tables are undersized for their space, but it looks like a side chair was more important to fit in.....so personal choice wins.....

@Gretchen Maurer, thank you! I see what you mean. And to really have panels, though I love them, they may have to go partly behind bed and/or cover more of the window than I'd like. Hmmm... a lot to think about. The blinds...eh. I guess they are/were nice with the previous owners' décor; they're wood, but they're very yellow-ish wood tone, maple I guess. Not working with the greys and whites that I have going on right now. I have to rethink this...I had panels chosen, but maybe all roman shades would work best.

Now when I look at that photo that I've taken, I see the colors are so off, the ceilings are too tall to get an accurate photo the way I was trying. I just painted; Benj. Moore Rever Pewter, from their historical color collection. Looks grey against the blinds, by itself, like a greige.

@decoenthusiaste , thank you...I'll have to read through that info. A lot to take in. I'm not sure based on what I have what kind of lamps are good. The ones I have just I didn't buy; we happened to own. They're silver with a crystal circle in the middle. Not especially big, not especially thin. Will read through your link to get some insight. I think you have done a great job so far. I agree with one of the comments about your lamps...not right style...and just too small. Your night tables are too squished against the side of the bed ( just move them away by approx 2 inches more).
Have a look at this link..drapes for the width of the entire wall behind your bed..bench at the foot of the bed..and art over the drapes like in the photo.

Me again..forgot to mention that it would be much nicer if you did not have the same style of window coverings on all the windows. They should just have something in common...for example..colour, fabric, maybe the same blinds (blinds on all windows and only drapes covering the blinds and windows behind your bed).
