I planted a needle palm last year and it overwintered outside this winter. Since it had warmed up to the 50 for the first time in months for more than a day, I decided to check on it. A half opened spear pulled out and the growing point smells of rot. I can go get H2O2 tomorrow, but temperatures are expected to stay warm. Would it be a good idea to pile snow ( I still have up to 6 inches of snowpack) around the palm to slow the rot until I can get the peroxide? Is the peroxide even necessary?
