I was recently digging up some dirt, whole lot of Florida clay, old sod full of duck poo that never took, and dead winter rye to put in pompas grass for my ducks. I noticed a really spicy/pepper like smell as I was finishing up. The smell is still very much in their run, I smelled it today. What is causing that, I don't like it and neither do the ducks.
