Where are all the gurus around here? I'm in desperate need of some opinions :)

First you need to browse all the Houzz photos and save the rooms that make you feel good and you see yourself living in. Then just replicate those colors. It's at least a start. I could recommend stuff but not knowing your style or needs leaves it too open. Keeping the wood trim means you need floor colors that compliment them. You could even nearly match the same stain so it looks as if it was all planned together then whatever wall color you pick will compliment even more.

The trim is lovely, but it appears that there isn't a lot of natural light. Paint should be something light and neutral. I agree with the other poster here. Find rooms you like. See how the colors work together. Find a color you like and imagine that with pops of color you love. Those pops become a picture on the wall, a few pillows on the couch, or an ottoman coffee table to pull it all together.

I agree with narrowing down to a style / color that you like, then working with the existing condition of the home to create a style that is customized for your lifestyle.

Show us the colors of your new carpet and flooring and furnishing. It would help to know what to match with.
