i just got some beautiful fireclay samples from fireclaytile dot com and they have changed my whole outlook and confidence in moving forward with a backsplash. I will try to post pictures of the colors I'm thinking about incorporating. The marble was $50 sq ft and these hand made beautiful tiles are about $32 sq ft. I think I feel I need some pop or punch of color since everything is so natural. PLUS the company offers free design. I will keep it classic simple and maybe go with a subway in one fo the solid colors. I'm going to see what they come up with. thank you marilynellis!!

I would keep the permanent aspects of the kitchen n your neutrals and add color n accessories and even pendant lighting and chandelier. You want your countertops to be the star and not clash with a busy backsplash. Also settling on a colored backsplash is going to permanently hold you down to a specific color palette.

It's entirely up to you however. All of your choices are beautiful and tasteful. But stop second guessing yourself. It's going to be gorgeous.
