Thank you so much for your question. The floating frame is open on both sides. Depending in where you place the frame and if it can be viewed in both directions. The frames come in small, medium and large with the latter being 17 inches wide by 28.5 inches tall. Here is what an interior designer recently commented about the piece: "On each nightstand/end table is a unique floating frame.
