is the ceiling outlet dead center in the room, or more to one side or the other? and is the ceiling just a flat expanse or angled? photo might help us.

Dead center. However we have 4 recessed lights near the corners.

i guess i'd advise something large, but sparse.... so it visually takes up square footage but still remains airy looking. something too small and dense would look all wrong.

you could add molding to your ceiling 3 feet in from the edges maybe, to avoid the recessed lights but making the area the chandelier has to fill be smaller?

even though this is a fan, and a tray ceiling, it gives the idea what i mean.

ok, here is what i will say. I would yes, get an idea of size, but hold off on choosing until the room is more complete. as it is now a chandelier would just be floating in this room. im saying you do a pretty semi flush drum shade with a chandelier inside it.

what i mean is something like this, in that there is lots of airy space inside the chandelier, its not a compact unit. not advising this particular one, you'd need one less tall.

Thanks guys. We are re-doing the entire room (just had the house built). So right now it's pretty empty.

We also have a huge master bedroom and our designer recommended this ceiling fan ( which we need in the summer ) with a flush mount fixture attached to it. The specialty lighting store wired the fixture up for us so all we had to do was install the fan itself. Just a note we had to buy a sum what expensive solid fan to make sure it wouldn't wobble when turned on. We love it. It makes the room look awesome.
