Windows probably didn't fit under roof line on the entry in the photo. It sounds as if you want less of a front entry and more of a covered porch/loggia. To avoid having 6 stone columns appear too heavy, you might consider a change to the front of the original drawing that increases the overall width of the covered entry. There's a photo of a San Diego Craftsman under "stone front porch" that illustrates what I mean- 2nd page.

I found San Diego Craftsman and understand the wide entry. I am looking for less Craftsman and more Mediteranean, therefore attempting to change entry to curved archway. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you!
