We will be putting hardwood in this room, updating the stair railing, and we want to finally get new furniture. I want to take the opportunity to redesign the layout of everything in the room. I need help with updated placement of the furniture and the type of furniture to purchase (ie...sectional or not, other types of seating, keep or get rid of any existing furniture...like the entertainment center) The window seat was taken out of the bay window so that I could paint it, but the family voted to leave it out as it makes the room feel bigger...now I need to hem the curtains. This is the first room you see when you walk in our front door, so I want it to really look nice. In these pictures, the carpet was getting ready to be cleaned so everything was stacked on top of the furniture and then the furniture was pushed out of the way for the cleaning. The living room walls are newly painted in a green we just love..."Guacamole", from Lowes. The adjoining dining room is a turquoise/aqua color (can't remember the name) from Lowes, and the kitchen, which you can see through a doorway as you enter the house, is painted a golden color..."Corner Bakery", from Lowes. We really like having color on the walls....I really don't think I could live without the color, but I am fully open to changing color. The big canvas picture you see in the corner of some of these photos has since been hung above the stairwell...it is a tree print from Pier 1 and has reds and oranges in the background of the silver/gray tree, and really pops off of the green wall.
