Laminate is made to be extremely durable. Most people change it out for style reasons and not damage. Also, we have seamless options that gives you the look of stone. Check out our website, we have a tool that allows you to build a mock kitchen so you can try out different floor, countertop and cabinet combinations. www.vtindustries.com

We have Wilsonart Luna Shadow for two different countertops in our galley kitchen. Love the product, hate the fabricators. HD forgot to put an appliance end on one end and it took a solid month before they sent a buildup kit and the appliance edge (which I had to apply).

When got ready to do the other run of cabinets, HD quoted $4,000 for what should have been $5-500. Told them they made a mistake, never heard from them for two weeks.

Went down the street to Lowe's and got quote for $317. Bringing g it home 30 miles on the interstate part of the buildup (for full overlay cabinets) fell off and when set it down on the floor an appliance edge was too tall and cracked.

Also, HD and Lowe's don't do end splashes the same way. I used butt joint end splash instead of the kind that sits on top of the counter). Lowe's did me an end splash but did not tell me they could not match what HD had done even though I gave them a diagram.

Bottom line is I am not happy with either. HD did a much better fabrication job and is more expensive than Lowe's.

The problem isn't the Wilsonart itself. If you go with Wilsonart find a reputable fabricator and don't use HD or Lowe's.

I'm having Italian white di pesco installed next week. I can post a picture if you're still interested.
