Thanks for the inquiry. This photo is of a #1 Blue label Certigrade 16" Cedar shingle roof with 7" exposure. It's basically a machine cut cedar shingle which is cleaner than a hand-split and therefore, more architectural. It's the same as an exterior wall shingle. The reason it is so colorful is that the picture was taken less than a month after it was installed. Note the picture I am uploading now as it will gray quickly to this color.
