Front Room Furniture and Layout

It's the first room on the right when you walk in. We just got rid of a dated desk and bookcase but now I'm hoping for a bright airy feel (minus the clutter of course). We have a pair of teak chairs I could put there, also an antique hutch. I'm looking for layout suggestions and possible colour schemes with cushions/rug/accessories. I'm thinking zen minimalist feel!

Which number photo in your ideabook most resembles your minimal look? the blue painted room?.....are you painting or changing anything?

Antique hutch doesn't really translate into "zen minimalism". A low saddle shaped wooden stool, with a large plant in a simple white pot, and two sleek teak chairs would be more of I would think.

I saw that wood hutch with its details and thought the same. But I try to see what's useable, so I'll post this modern room which has a chest in it that doesn't seem to belong, but maybe the owner really wanted it there. Eclecticize it!?

You're doing the first room you showed? How big is it? Might you mean bright airy as in gauzy fabric and exotic teak??
