    It's a little hard to see in this image; however, I provided a tag to mark it. There is only one steel beam that runs at the center of the stair which then supports the treads.

    This is a beautiful design. Are the pickets steel or bronze? If steel do you recall how they were finished?

    They're steel. Probably finished with a copper-sulfide solution.
