My pebble sheen finish is so uneven...

Our pebble sheen finish was completed on January 1st of this year, our pool builder assured me it would even out as the chemicals adjusted. Well, it has not, and I'm not happy at all with it. This can't possibly be how it is supposed to look right??? The pictures don't even do it full justice. The pool looks dirty to me.

Hi Susan... we had our pool build a few month ago and mine looks like yours, I do NOT like it at all and my pool builder is not responding either.. I notice that I have a lot of black areas that are not easy to clean, seems like it's still from the installation and it's hard; my pool lady said she would do an acid wash for me in the fall, but I'm less then happy the pool wasn't cheap and it's only 3 month old and the finish looks awful, I have the same color as yours I think have you found any info, help or ideas yet? Or were you lucky and your pool builder fixed it?? Mine won't even come out anymore after many promises that a guy of his would come fix it, clean it, even it out we gave up no one ever showed ....u aren't by any chance in Central Florida and we had the same guy...LOL

We did a pool build last summer, the finish is a blue granite pebble sheen and NEVER had it looking like that!

I do know that some ghosting can appear before the chemicals are balanced which should be shortly after the fill. And I've also read on another pool forum that is frequented more where builders will say it needs to be acid washed.

I hope you have a good relationship with your builder so that they do the right thing by you.

Thank you for the feedback. Unfortunately our pool builder has been less than responsive. :-( Still working on it though.

Did they correct your situation? We just installed pebblesheen and there is one area in the deep end where there are a few whiter spots. Our installer said they will come and have a tec that will dive and touch it up with acid to even things out. I have read of other people that have a no drain acid wash. Some need to drain and re do the acid wash all together. I think your pool needs some kind of acid remediation - looks to me that the acid was was very uneven. Our stairs and the shallow part are much more uniform than what you show here. Let us know if they were able to fix it!

I'm having the same problem with my pool builder, he claimed it was supposed to look like this, I called Pebbletec who sent a rep out-said it needs a better acid wash which was done last week- it actually looks worse now and the pool guy won't accept responsibility. I feel like I need an expert, will try to get Pebbletec back out but they seem protective of the pool builder and didn't want to respond to a warranty claim directly from me to begin with and refused to give me a report.

Phil, i know it's been a while since you posted this, but did you ever get anywhere with this? I have the same thing, maybe worse. Mine was completed almost a year ago and my pool contractor came out twice to acid wash but it didn't help. It rained while they were installing and they had to cover and work under a tarp, so I'm thinking it got away from them. Sadly, i'm going to have to get a lawyer involved; so I was trying to find photos of how it is supposed to look so i can try and prepare something to show my lawyer as a comparison. I am also going to call the mfg to see if they can help, but i suspect they will stand behind their customer (pool contractor) just like the other folks said.
