Heart Blocks

These blocks are made up of 3 1/2" squares of strips and HSTs. I saw the pattern on Alycia Quilts Blog.

One of the things I liked was the strips didn't have to be an exact size. I went through the pile that hadn't been sorted yet and had a ball. Talk about using scraps! Plus, in the pink one, I had a couple of 9-patches I had made in pinks so stuck those in there, too. :-) Am I going crazy? These were just plain fun!

I was sorting through my strip bin for pieces to use in my bookcase quilt. I really gotta use them up. Love this idea.

Sharon, those are just as cute as can be. What a great idea for those tiny leftover strips. Thanks for the link.

Great way to use up those smaller scraps. I really like that each heart is one color.
Yeah Baby -- You are Crazy for Scraps! LOL

I think we should crown Sharon as Queen of Scraps. She always does great things with them.

LOLOLOL......oh you guys....... I'm just trying to show everyone what can be done with small scraps that would normally be tossed. Here's your challenge! Make one! :-)

These are great! If I wasn't already challenged by too many projects I'd bite. However, for now I just bookmarked. Too many unfinished class projects, etc.

love Anything hearts... Thought it was paper pieced, at first.....if only I could figure a way to keep scraps 'sorted'. and a strip bin, grammyp??? please do tell....???? ....strip bin. hmmm....

Here you go Sharon. Challenge completed, you did say make one. Had it all together and saw one corner twisted. Drat! Unpicking! Fixed.

Good for you, Theresa!! Nicely done! :-)

Okay, I made mine bigger - the squares are 4" so it will finish a 20" square. I am going to use it as a center for a charity quilt.

It will be a good one.

Sue, It looks great, and use as a medallion is exactly how mine is being used, too......and going to charity. I asked a friend in NC if she wanted them for the many charity quilts she makes and that is how she plans to use them. Thank you!

I finished the heart square into a quilt. It is supposed to be a charity quilt, but I really like it and don't know if I want to give it away now! I may put it in my "I'm not sure what I will do with this" pile for now! :) Sharon, Thanks for inspiring me to try this block.

Well done, Sue. I keep looking at mine and trying to come up with a plan. This just might be it. Thanks.

That looks great, Sue! I think you need to enjoy it until something comes along you think would be perfect for it. Hang it up somewhere for now and just smile. :-)

Nice, Sue! I like your quilted flowers.
