Building House, Bermuda seeding question

Hi

I am building a house in Tennessee and was planning on seeding Bermuda for the lawn. However, it is likely that by the time we are ready to seed, it will be too late. I DON'T want a yard full of dirt over the winter. Can I seed with Rye over the winter then seed Bermuda in late spring? Will the two fight each other?
