How about a solid to go with the simple style of the seating and not clash with the beautiful rug? The teal (?) in the rug could be wonderful with the walls, wood and flooring.

I think a solid would be beautiful also. The teal would be a modern color as opposed to a burgundy. I just used Thibaut Genoa Herringbone in aqua (I wouldn't call it aqua it is muted not vibrant) on cherry dining chairs. www.thibautdesign.com
