My mom's hot water heater leaked, and it was a while before she noticed. She has now torn up the carpet in one room, and just noticed it was wet in the other. She has pulled up some carpet in there, but says it still stays damp. She thinks the mildew on top of the wood is keeping the moisture in. How do you get mildew off unfinished wood, that wont make it even wetter?
