Having lost 3 lychees and going to try again soon, I would put it in the shade, mist it 2-3 times per day and wrap in it a clear trash bag. I'd let it slowly acclimate to the weather for a month eventually taking the trash bag off. Once planted, it needs to stay shaded (probably with shade cloth), misted, protected from the wind (lychees hate wind, mine probably died from this) and do not fertilize it for a year.
