27 hours??!! I too would not have the patience. I recently watched the Great British Bake-off, where home bakers competed for the titles of Best Baker in Britain - amazing cakes, pies etc were created - some of them quite intricate. I wonder if this is the correct vein?

I too was going to post a random question yesterday, but became caught up in a domestic drama - our hot water tank ceased heating water. We have a rental with a coverage plan - so called the company to have someone over. They could not come till later in the day, then called back to cancel till today as their 1 (?) technician in the area had his vehicle quit on him. Still quite miffed about this, and still waiting for my nice hot shower.

Hi, Cynthia and Nancy. Here we are again! I had two things pop into my mind, though I don't have much faith in either one. The first one is seasonal and we are in the season right now. The second one is sometimes associated with salt water, but I've never known exactly why.

Ah, seasonal, yes. I do wish it felt more like spring here. 29 degrees F here this morning. Not an auspicious beginning for spring break. I worry that the occasional springlike day will have the baby birds arriving too early. All those wee ones chirping, peeping, and singing makes for a happy planet.

So, the time it takes to make one of these now is 6 minutes. The new owner of the company started to automate rather than make each item by hand. Now, an average of 5.5 million are made each day! Wow.

Nancy, hope your hot water heater is fixed. No fun being without it.

Have you ever noticed how grocery stores load all the unhealthy temptations right where you have to walk when you enter and head to the produce section? Bad news for those of us who sometimes shop hungry. Quite the eye-catching displays!

I have three thoughts that I'll just throw out there: Peeps. Cadbury Eggs. Those eggs made of colored sugar with a hole in the end through which you can view a little scene.

Unbeknownst to me (until I started researching), these can be chocolate. They even had wings at one point (that should give it away).

Now, to be more subtle...I have been searching high and low for a spring coat. Now, TM, this will mean nothing to you unless you had daughters, but I bet Nancy, Annette and Bobbie remember when girls and women had these. In the 50s, we had new ones every year as did my mother. Well, she may not have new every year. I would love a pretty color-pink, yellow, green, or blue. I want lightweight wool, classic cut, but it is the color that matters most!

Yesterday, my relatively new neighbors were unboxing their new patio furniture. Despite the fact that it makes me sound a bit like a peeping Tom (Thomasina?), I have looked over from our deck to see what they chose. I am a bit worried about late evening parties, though. Could get loud, especially once they put in the pool they are planning. Yikes. Love our house, but wish we had several acres between us and all neighbors.

So, TM, which one are you going to pick? Nancy and Annette should probably follow your lead. :)

Hi, Bobbie! My tulips and hyacinths are starting to show. Some of the daffodils are in bloom and the rest should pop when the temps hit 70 here on Thursday. We are all going to be smiling soon!

I have a lovely 2" pot with a purple hyacinth on the console table at the door, I put it in the silver sugar bowl with a wreath of moss to hide the pot. I wanted to put it into a nice teacup, but haven't found my teacups yet! Too much stuff it seems. Some tulip noses are showing out front, but we'll have more snow yet. Oh well, it will be over soon!! I don't recall ever seeing Peeps - maybe because they aren't made of chocolate - lol.

My garden is still under snow! Bleahh! I do have a bunch of plant babies under lights in my basement, so at least I have some green things to look at.
