Hi, we're about to demolish the upper deck and redo the entire patio area. Without the upper deck, the 2nd story sliding glass door will have to go away. We were planning to just turn the sliding glass door into a window, but we started to think that our master bedroom would be better served with a window placed elsewhere...toward your left, which would be centered on the wall of our master bedroom. If we did this, the window would not be centered with the peak of the roof as it is now. Does that go against the convention of how a house should look from the outside? It seems to me that it would look a little off, but it would be an improvement from the inside.
