Replacing and upgrading a 1950's screened in porch. New build will be 12' wide x 9' deep x 7'6" high and sits against the back wall of the house (rug brick) and approx. 36" above ground. Original bricked supports remain. Floor is tongue in groove pine painted with oil paint. Brick wall has approx. 6'6" wide x 42" high window that looks into the dining room. Top half of double hung windows with 6 lights in each of the 3 windows. Front wall and one side wall with have floor to ceiling Lumon glass panels. (www.lumon.ca or www.lumon.com) Also these sides will have retractable screens. The other 9' side has two doors. One that will be a Lumon glass door panel that goes to the deck and one that goes into the kitchen (existing 15 lights door). Ceiling is vaulted with 3 skylights. The centre one is remotely operable while that other two are fixed. They are white aluminium on the inside. The ceiling is finished in tongue in groove knotty pine. Floor will be redone with tongue in groove 5" clear pine. Considered using existing pine floor but there are some saw cuts that have degraded the look. Need help with colours and finishes. Kitchen floor is 2-5/8" red oak with a clear satin finish. Deck is a light grey Azek (Tahoe colour) and a charcoal colour border. Considering milk paint for ceiling or solid white. For floor thinking a milk paint in a grey/taupe colour transition from the clear red pine in the kitchen to light and dark grey in the deck colour. Considered vinyl tile but it will not withstand the cold weather. Considered ceramic tile but we would need a cement pad poured. So back to wood. Not sure if floor should be a darker grey. I have an antique (1920's) Lloyd Loom wicker porch set. Includes settee, rocker, chair and a high (40") oval table topped with Carrara marble. The set is painted in the original "Tarragon" green colour. Currently I would call the set "shabby chic". The wicker is in excellent condition it is just that paint has worn off. I'm trying to find out from Lloyd Loom if I can repaint the set without closing the spaces of the wicker or is it better to stay with the original colour and just touch it up with a matching spray paint. If anyone here knows that would be helpful. Ideally a soft white/bisque would be nice. Input welcome. I can then use fabric to make the "statement". Having trouble loading photos.
