Is there any safe way to move a painted wall mural? I painted a scene from "Where the Wild Things Are" on my living room wall, almost 18 years ago. (Max swinging from a huge tree) I've been using the tree as a growth chart for my kids and family members with vines marking the kids' heights. My daughter even recorded the heights of her baby dolls on there. I want to know if there is any way I can take the mural with me, if I move. If the wall were wallboard, I think I would cut it out and repair the wall, but it is a very old wall - plaster and lathe. Is there some technique used with old murals or to restore them... some way to peel the mural or something? Any ideas are welcome.
