Wrought iron columns need update

Any ideas on what can be done to the wrought iron column-like things on my tiny front porch? I hate them!

    Can you just remove them ? They don't look like they supporting your porch ?

    ... Again remove as they are dated or you could spray paint them black if you want to keep them.
