I know it is considered not possible . I made some F1 seed last summer and anxious to test the results . Should be semi bush . I used small pear gourd as the seed parent . They never seem to be bothered . I interplanted them with my zucchini and got longer lived squash . The bores finally got them when the foliage opened up due to picking squash but I believe the mixed planting provided some protection . I hand pollinated 1 gourd . This year I will try crossing zucchini with Tatume .
