Take down curtains, they are too fussy for your cool rustic room.

if you need sun protection or night time privacy you'll want to replace them with something, but first take these down and you'll feel better.

If you need sun protection, you can buy a clear film to adhere to the windows that blocks UV rays but not the light or view. This is an easy DIY, or for a better quality film, most window companies install and warrantee window films. If you need privacy, use horizontal or vertical blinds, you can get the Luminaire blinds from Hunter Douglas that combine verticals with sheer fabric. Pricey, but no more so than custom curtains.

Suggest ceiling to floor panels in a heavy material, such as a rough woven linen. Rough to compliment the beautiful fireplace stone work. White would probably work, or the very palest tone in the stonework. I think dark would detract from the fireplace. The hardware might be best concealed with a built in type valance. The other thought that occurred to me would be white or off white plantation shutters.

Maybe woven wood blinds?

I'd install high tech UV film on the windows and then put in bamboo shades. They'll pick up on the FP colors while adding more texture and letting a bit of light filter in. Consider a less formal looking area rug.

Just had a shelving unit made to go under my 70" mounted TV. It has a mahogany trimmed front I want to keep as is. Sort of has a green hue which will match the room but I have no idea where to start with the rest of the finish.

If I were you take it to a cabinet finisher if you want to match mahogany. They can give it a beautiful furniture finish. Otherwise staining may be tricky.

I like the plantation shutters, or get some simple roll-up bamboo or rattan shades.
