What lighting was used in the ceiling? It looks like recessed lighting?

Those are just simple, exterior rated, single spot lights mounted to the inside edge of the canopy. The benefit of the spot is that it allows the light to be aimed where it is needed. In this case, it is used as ambient on the patio and creates a nice starlight spot. On a dimmer switch, it allows the homeowner to set the mood.

The pergola is constructed with steel posts and frame, powder coated black, with clear stained redwood framing for the joists.

Given the pavers are 12" x 24", I'd guess the beam span width between each post is approx. 84" (7") as I count 7. The depth, again guessing, is probably, 72" to 84" deep.
