Hi, really like your space and what direction it sounds like you're wanting to go. Just so we can give you some better suggestions, are the 2 pictures below representative of what you mean by wanting to mix patterns? I found these in your ideabook (which btw are 2 living room photos I've adored since seeing these on Houzz). Mixing patterns and colors like these 2 designers have done so beautifully is not an easy task....but I guess us "non-pro" Houzzers can try! :-) (it'll be fun to look for ideas anyway!)

PS is that a dark gray color with white and light gray in your shades...or is it a plum/purple? Are there any other colors in particular that you'd like to incorporate in your room? I love the dark coral/red and even the hot pink that's shown in these photos below. :-)

Hello, I think this rug would be great. Although...it really depends on your style and colours that you wish to introduce into your room. I like the fact that this patchwork style transitional rug works with many different looks. I think it works well in a casual/cozy family room. It also connects the damask pattern in your blinds, and the black/grey/brown tones already existing in your room. It adds pattern that you want in the room and introduces warm oranges and terracottas. What do you think? Keep looking further down the page for more suggestions.
