they stopped growing

My seedlings have done great my 1st try until now.

I got them transplanted and separated to bigger pots, have their secondary leaves, are a nice shade of green, stalks are strong, about 5" tall are no for the past week 1/2 no growth. 50-60 degree nights are did 80 degree days here in texas, so they've been on amended table on the patio instead of the greenhouse.

Thinking they are still too small to put in the garden.

Ideas??? Advice much appreciated.

It sounds like a bit of transplant shock. They should resume growth within a few days or so, as longer as your weather doesn't cool off in the meantime.

Are you using decent potting soil?

Yes. Potting soil the nursery recommended for starting seeds. Seed starting soil. I fertilized 1/2 strength fish emulsion first part of this week. Our weather isn't expected to cool off for the week at least.

Plants need to adjust to their new home ESPECIALLY if they are divided and the roots are disturbed.

If you transplanted to bigger pots, best to use regular potting soil. Seed type is ok at the beginning because they don't need much to get started. Fish emulsion is a good source of Nitrogen.

Seed starting mix is for seed starting. Potting soil has extra goodies/nutes that seed starting mix doesn't have. Most nursery employees are there for a paycheck, and have little actual knowledge of life in the garden. Their expertise is in counting seed packets for inventory. Fish emulsion is a good … start ...
