What to do with living room window!

We have two large living room windows. Due to the layout of the living room, we have had to put the love seat in front of the window. I am about to update the paint colour to a pale cream color, and I'm desperate to get rid of the 1989's Venetian blinds! I love curtains, but they would be awkward with all the furniture, and I do want privacy at night. Suggestions for window dressing would be much appreciated!

The great thing about your window is that you have stacking space on each side of the window. If you feel that pulling draperies wouldn't work, you could still hang "dummy" panels ceiling to floor on each side, and then put roman blinds or similar interior mounted inside. BTW, wondering if you would have room for the loveseat on the opposite side of the coffee table if you removed that corner basket unit and moved the sofa down so it was centered on the TV...

going more pale is only going to make the dark furniture stand out even more. I would do curtains, but just to act as panels. and sea grass blinds. they will go with the floor. really think about painting though...

I love the idea of shutters. You can pick a taller size on the bottom, and a smaller size on the top. Keep the top shutters open for maximum light.

I would love to move the love seat to the opposite side, but it would unfortunately cut off access to dining room... I love the idea of the dummy panels, had not thought of that. It would be a good way to soften the contrast between the walls and furniture( using a pop of color). I really like the look of the Hunter Douglas Silhouette shades, does anyone know if Levolor makes a similar product?
