Sharing our master bedroom with a crib

We're looking to jazz up our bedroom which is a bit challenging since our daughter' crib is attached to our bed (it's not an option to move her out right now). Any ideas on space layout, maximizing space, storage and colour scheme that will work with the current furniture colours? And how to make our bed look like a nicer adult bed without having to buy a new bed?

I can imagine you are very busy and often do not have time to make the bed. I'd keep the same duvet and buy brown sheets so the bed will look good made or unmade. photo 1

Get some art work up on the walls to bring your personality to the room. I'd put a panoramic picture over the bed.

What are your thoughts on creating a faux monogram headboard, like this one? It's simple enough, and you simply purchase vinyl for whatever design you like OR letter:)

I like calgal's suggestion in adding a WARM to the mix. The sheets are ideal in the chocolate:) I would follow through in using the same color , to the faux headboard:)

Thanks for your suggestions everyone! I'd love to get a different headboard but the bed is currently a malm bed and I don't think I can just attach a new headboard to it. I'll look into the monogrammed headboard look or art over the bed. Great idea with the dark brown sheets!
