Here is your picture flipped. What don't you like? A can of paint can cost less than some shower curtains. A pretty teal with a hint of gray, like in the above shower curtain might work - and other grey tone blues.

When working with textiles, you will need to work with 2-3 pieces to create a theme. That would mean looking into shower curtain AND bathmat...and preferably a hand towel as well.

Or just all white?....When Michael's has blank canvas packs on sale, buy and paint. Even paint over if the yellow, etc. doesn't work in your own lighting. Then stack the 3 on the wall seen upon entering? Possibly nice cause of the modern mirror and light.

I love seeing great hand towels on clearance, not hard to find at Home Goods, etc. if you had solid art, a great pattern/stripe hand towel beside the mirror...

Perhaps when your budget allows, I would consider getting some inexpensive cheap black frames and using them to frame up something you have on hand (black and white photos, etc) - to add a bit of interest to the wall you see straight ahead from the doorway. Also, a towel bar just below any artwork (with your towels hanging on it) will also draw the eye to that wall and whatever color you put there. Don't feel bad about your bathroom. I honestly don't think it is as bad as you think.

Wal mart is the cheapest thing going these days....I think you can use teal, turquoise, white, any color except yellow. hahaha Buy the shower curtain and then accessorize with the color suite that suits you. You can get plastic colored soap dish, loition dispenser, waste basket, etc in the color coordinated aisle, not the cutsey bath aisle....the room will look great. Also they have great big art in bins in all the aisles that are on sale all the time. Choose one and hang it so it is the first thing you see standing in the doorway.....it will be really pretty.

If you do all white then just hang an all green fauz plant wreath for freshness

All that white/cold gray is depressing. I'd pick something warm (believe it or not, yellow is frequently cold) to get a bit of warmth in there. A shower curtain with orange or red, and rug in one of the curtain colors would help warm it up

I think the floor tiles are beautiful. I don't see tiles on the walls; am I missing those? I would play off the "greige" in the floor tiles. How about a mirror with a dark brown wood frame? And I also love teal blues like the shower curtain in everdebz post.

For a temporary fix Walmart, Jysk or ikea is going to be your best bet. You should be able to grab a shower curtain, bath mat, a couple of towels and a small piece of bathroom art for about 100 bucks.

Again, not sure if you like this shower curtain but I think it's great and certainly not "sterile." you could play off the browns (like the towels below) or pick up the gorgeous red in your towels and baht mats. (or both)

Not sure if you like this or not; I do and you could pick up any of the rich colors you like: reds, greens, blues, etc.

I think your bathroom is lovely,not botched at all!The shower curtains,towels,rugs etc are a way to add colour- and that really should be to your taste..what pops of colour you identify with and enjoy looking at... but the bathroom looks great as it is now.
