Long time follower, first time poster. I bought a little carrie mango from Pine Island, via Home Depot. Impulse buy, and though i should've gone down to the nursery myself, I wanted it, so I bought it without giving it a second look.Well, the plant's stem was dry about half-way up, I cut that part off. It turns out that was probably a good idea, I had no idea about pruning and pugging to have the tree branch out. So from that point It has begun branching, that is great!However, the stem below is very thin, and the tree has become top heavy; I've had to use zip ties to keep the tree upright. I've left the tree enough space to thicken up within the ties. I don't want to pug or prune the branches because they just came out a bit ago and the top of the stem from where it is branching out is only 1 foot, maybe less, from the ground.So, any other suggestions to help thickening up the stem? Or just time....
