Done that 3 nights in a row. Sneaky sob didn't show...those nights! Have 3 traps with sardines,etc... Doesn't touch them. Have lost 20 chickens and a duck the last 2 months. Have jimmy wired some and contain all the flocks in the coop overnight ... Which is protecting most of them ( the girls) but a few of the younger roosters high tail into the tall trees and fall victim . I want him dead....bottom line.

Lone-Jack nailed it! But keep your pets inside. It will kill anything with 4 legs fast! Mix it in some cheap plastic bowls you can get at a dollar store, set the bowls out at night (away from the chickens) and in the morning, wear heavy gloves and bring some garbage bags to pick up the dead 4 leggers. They usually die within 4' of the bait. We just got a huge possum that way. In full rigor when we found him. Put the bowls in a safe spot during the day so life can go on, and refill and put out for at least a week. If you kill one coon, there are many more out there.
