I saw it at truehardwoods for $2.59 online so I was wondering if it was good or could do better. No tax + shipping evens out.

Erica it is the Eastern Hickory. It's probably a little dusty,med were cutting trim. I think we paid about $6.50/ sq. ft. for the flooring and installation. The tear out of the previous flooring was additional. I will say that you want someone skilled to do the installation! If the floor isn't flat it will cause problems. Totally happy with it!

We are having the Highland Hickory 2615 installed as we speak! It ran us about $6.10 / square foot installed - this included 1/4" birch underlayment. We did our own tear out. We have floor level issues, so decided the best option was to have the glue down and have it installed. It will be well worth it, I believe. It was great to have the samples to look at. Our initial thought was Castle Oak, but we ended up switching gears!

cweber584, Please do post a picture or two of your results. I would love to see the golden brown color in a room to see the overall pattern/color effect.

We have darker cabinets in the kitchen. I don't have a completed photo of that yet. We had to blend in a few different wood colors. In person it looks beautiful!

Does anyone have any cons associated with the Moduleo? The minimal wear layer is a big concern for me. Also, has anyone noticed any issues with gaps after installation (shrinking planks)?

They really have one of the best wear layers for luxury vinyl tile. We carry about 6 brands and it's the most expensive one we sell but also the best. We went to Home Depot the other day and you can really see the difference in this brand versus what they sell. We not only sell it, but we have it in our showroom and our house. We love it! We have animals so that is one reason we decided to go with it.

By chance do you have it in your bathroom? I'm looking for a LVP to put throughout the entire first floor of the house we're building. I had the Adura by Mannington in the last and although we liked it, we did experience some shrinkage, despite using the glue down option.

We have it in every room except the bedrooms and family room. I absolutely love it!

As a follow up to our Embellish - we had a tornado go through our area early March - approximately 1 1/2 months after installing the flooring. We had a leak in the roof and water pooled on the floor. I was able to wipe that up and there has been no damage. The insurance adjuster looked at the floor and thought it was real wood. Our contractor knew that it is a high quality flooring. The floor still looks great and is very easy to take care of. Highly recommend!

jloconnor514 we are looking at putting the same into a condo that is on stilts near the water in the kitchen and living room....thank you for your pics...we are putting a new white kitchen in also so it was nice to see your pictures....also looking at Scarlett Oak...the Embellish looks so much like wood and it has a 20mm backing and the largest planks in the industry....the cost for ours will be $6 sf installed (here in Florida)...we close on 6/5 so can't wait to take over the planks to see which one we like....we were told the click would be better for our area....here are some pics, along with carpet we want....on gulf coast so we want to be kinda beachy....

Mothanature have fun choosing! We are very happy with our flooring. If I may suggest double checking on the install method - my understanding is that glue down is sort of the "gold standard", but I don't live in the same weather you do, nor have experience with stilted homes. where can I get samples?

Nancy....Look at ivcfloors.com for locations....ok....anyone else who put vinyl planing down....Were you "advised" to put the planking horizontal....or vertical....as you enter the door....room? Thank you....we were advised to lay it vertically so as not to see every line.....but I like the way it looks horizontally....(with the sample).

Our installers told us it did not matter how they were laid, strictly personal preference. I wanted it the "long way" - makes the room seem a little bigger. I don't really see any lines I have to say, but we did the glue down.

Thanks, great blog. We are looking at the Embellish Castle Oak right now, our home isn't very bright and has dark cabinets, dark caounters and dark shutters. We want to brighten it up but wondering if this would be too stark in contrast??? What is the actual thickness of the wear layer and the plank, does anyone know?

JoAnne....I found the samples look totally different than in the store....you really have to bring it home to see them in your true light. I like lighter....so we are probably going with Scarlett Oak, white cabinets, white quartz counters, light beige walls, so it just depends on what you prefer. Have fun!

I am so happy with Castle Oak Moduelo 55570! It is gorgeous! We just got finished laying it.

A few things I couldn't find info on: there are eight completely different patterns. Of course, they are printed in various spots so the technical "pattern repeat" is a whole lot fewer. They told me it is 1 in 64, and I'd say that's pretty accurate for a true exact duplicate plank.

The finish is gorgeous, and fairly matte. What I love most is the embellished in register, which means that the "grain" in the surface matches the "grain" in the print film. This was the only phthalate free line I could find that had that feature.

So glad i found this thread, considering this line as well for my home. My only concern looking at the samples is the sheen. In a certain light, the shiny areas really stand out in the sample and look quite plastic. Is this the same sheen as when it is installed, or is it more matte? I'm considering the Eastern Hickory.

i don't think it looks plasticky when it's laid down, more like a matte polish I guess. Don't know if this helps, north facing sliders, please excuse the mess :)

Has anyone used the underlayment or is this flooring being installed directly onto the cement foundation??? . I'm looking at a floating floor.

JoAnne-i think this flooring can be installed either way. When i asked before they recommended padding underneath to reduce noise if you did floating. Not sure about this exact kind though.

Just curious what pricing people have gotten for this. I got an estimate and they quoted $3.99/sqft but I'm seeing it online for a lot less.

JoAnne I don't think they recommend using any kind of padding underneath it. The only difference that I'm aware of between floating and glue down is that the floating has the locking edges. The surface it's laid on needs to be flat. Any padding under it would show ripples and allow the planks to shift and unlock.

Has anyone used the Horizon planks? I love the Embellish, but none of the colors in that line are just right. Their good colors are too dark for us. The Horizon line has less texture, and the texture it does have doesn't follow the grain.

I'm looking at the Horizon Carriage House #60096 (above). It's a combination of grey and tan, but I'm unsure if the tan might be too orange or pink toned. (My flooring guys says I'm overthinking this.) I'd love to see photos of the Carriage House or the Antique Oak in the Horizon line.

I'm considering laying approximately 2,400 sq. ft. of Moduleo Embellish for my new home build and would love some feedback from anyone who has had this floor installed for awhile:

1. Has the floor held up in regarding to scratching? We have an Australian Shepherd who is very active.
2. Has there been any separation issues with the planks?
3. Any other feedback?

We have 3 large dogs, and have not noticed any scratches at all on the floor. This floor is in probably the highest traffic area in the house, it's right by the back sliders that the dogs go in and out of about 900 times a day, I track in and out from gardening, etc. I'm not a great housekeeper, so it doesn't get as much attention as it should. Still looks brand new, we've had it for a little over a year now. We did the glue down, no separation, no issues. We are considering putting it in the dining room as well, once we are ready to re do that area. I would encourage you to make sure whoever installs your flooring is familiar with this product, I can see that poor prep would be a disaster! Let me know if you have any other questions, hopefully some of the other posters will chime in as well.

We have had our installed for a year now. We have a golden retriever and grandkids. No visible scratches and it still looks great! Glad that we ended up going with the glued down. We have unlevel floors.

We own two german shepherds. The only flooring I would ever recommend above this for dogs would be tile.

I've read many comments on going with the glue down install. However, I'm not sure I'd want to deal with all the glue on the subfloor when/if we need to replace the flooring down the road.

I'd prefer the click install because it would be cheaper and we wouldn't need to deal with the glue, but I don't want to risk separation of planks. Since we will be building new, the subfloor should be level and in perfect shape.

Anyone have any recommendations on a click vs glue install in my case?

Ryan, we always use the click flooring with Moduleo. My only recommendation is to be sure the seams are tightly locked together before moving on. We have had that issue with the separation but if you are thoroug, it shouldn't be a problem. Hope this helps!

Well....we had the Embellish installed as mentioned in my comment above. WARNING: They do not make their own edging....we are now waiting to have them some how get moldings to match....Not fun! Still waiting....installed before Thanksgiving!

You are correct about matching transition pieces. We use Versatrim and they match but it's not a perfect match. If you put this on an entire level or next to carpet it shouldn't matter. There are other options but yes it's something to take into consideration.

I think that is who they use; it did not match at all. I don't care about the trim around the baseboard, it can be white, but at the thresholds, it's a different story, it should match! We have three thresholds to match.

I feel the need to comment on this brand. We recently contracted our home, and were very careful to select high quality elements. When it came to flooring we knew hardwood was the way to go, but it simply was not practical for our family. We have multiple dogs and small children so we wanted something durable. Our floor installer suggested LVP and after much research on Moduleo Embellish we decided it would be great due to its low maintenance and durability and the fact that it was resistant to scratching. We increased the cost by adding high quality padding under the floor to help with moisture and foundation imperfections (we live in south Louisiana so foundation issue are always a concern). We have been in our home for over a month and I am EXTREMELY disappointed. The floor itself is beautiful. However it is anything but scratch resistant. Not just large pieces of furniture scratch the floor, but chairs, bar stools, children's toys....everything. Additionally, the floors are consistently becoming unsnapped and we did have the floor professionally installed. Evidently, because the planks are so thin and the pad thick, the give of the pad as you walk on it is enough for the planks to move and pop out of place. We have had the floor installer come out twice to fix this problem in certain places.

After buying 2800 sq feet of flooring and padding, we ended up spending similar to what we would spend on hardwood. However, we overlooked this fact thinking the durability would pay for itself. In the month we have lived in the home we have had to buy a professional weighted floor roller to put planks back in place. Additionally we have had to experiment with different floor cleaners and refinishers to find a way to hide the numerous scratches. we spent $20,000 on this floor so changing it out anytime soon is not an option. Before this I have lived in a home with tile and laminate. I hate to say it, but I was happier with the much cheaper laminate flooring!

I think you should reach out to the company directly. I'm pretty sure no padding is recommended, only the recommended underlay, shame on your installer. This is why you are having the issues you are having. Good luck getting a resolution

I am looking at the Castle Oak 2350 and am having a hard time finding good pictures. Anyone else have some pictures of this flooring?

Prior to purchasing ours, I went to the dealer and brought home several large samples and laid them out in various areas and let them sit there for a couple of days. It really helps with selecting the color.

Nadine - it sounds like you have an installer issue. If you had foundation imperfections, glue down would most likely have been the way to go.

getting mine installed right now. They're are some boxes where the color is a bit lighter, they're mixing them in so it looks nice but I wonder if this is normal?

I am interested in the Moduleo Embellish. What is recommended over radiant heat glue down or click floor?

I brought home some samples of this today. Color wise I'm all over the place. My favorite today is the Highland Hickory. No red in it and it's rustic but can also double as a Coastal option (we're in Florida with a pool so the design options are endless). Anyone know if they have matching stair nose and if they look good? I love the look and feel of this product. Love to see so many positive and glowing reviews! Considering Audra Max Apex and the Going Coastal Collection by Global Gem (which has some beautiful options, too). Pricewise the dealer wants around 7.95 for product plus install and additional charge for about 300 sq ft of tile tear out (around 1k). This seems a bit high compared to others on here. Is haggling a little ok?

We have had the Embellish Castle Oak glue down for a year. The flooring is coming unglued. Has anyone had issues with this? It was installed per the directions and a claim has been filed. Distributor will pay for half of the labor and the same flooring. Now the shade of Castle Oak is lighter than what we had originally laid down. Very reluctant to use the same flooring and same glue again. Anyone else having this issue with this product?
