New breakfast Nook

As part of our recent Reno we decided to update our kitchen breakfast area to have a built-in nook. We looked at several ideas on houzz and came up with our simple yet functional set-up.

We love the space and set-up.

It is very beautiful! Do you need the big, white blind? Could it be raised or softened with some window treatments?

Grapefruit1_ar the blinds are in the plans to be changed at later date. French curtains or shutters.

It looks great! We are planning to do something very similar in our kitchen remodel - we are making ours with built-in storage. Did you build this yourself or modify something pre-made?
KK we had it built with our own design. We did consider storage however that would have increased cost. Also that is something we can modify later if needed.

I love this. I am wondering how much lower your windows are than the back of the seating? I am hoping to do something similar in my nook but my windows go almost to the floor and I'm worried it might be awkward. Yours look great though!!

@amanda cook most of our windows go to the floor however that one was short however we still lost the portion behind the backseat.

We recently cleaned up the look by adding shutters and I think it made it more classy and neat.

looks wonderful. I am hoping to do something similar.

    who built your bench seating?
Amanda if you referring to the cushions i found a person on Etsy however she is also listed on Houzz search under pros 4heidesign.

She gave me links to fabric places and I chose the fabric and style and gave her the measurements.

By the way when I did the shutters I customized it to add a over hang to cover the backside of the bench to cleanup the look from outside.

We absolutely love the book when friends and family come over it is the gathering place. Comfortably seats upto 7 people.
