I think it's worth trying. It sounds like they can't stay where they are, and they aren't so large that moving them will be too challenging.

Oaks and camellias are a good combination, and red-flowered camellias supposedly handle sunny spots better than those with lighter-colored blooms. In the SC Lowcountry, I regularly see camellias of all colors planted out in sunny areas, and they look fine.

IMO, the thing you want to look out for with a camellia in a sunny place is making sure your plants don't dry out. You're talking about winter sun, so that's not as much of a problem, but it is always a good idea to be sure your plants are well mulched year 'round. Oak leaves are a great mulch material, as is pine straw if that's easier for you.

My guess is that it's pretty hot where you are since it's already hot here, so I would try to wait until the forecast calls for rain or overcast weather before moving. The move and the heat will be stressful, so don't be surprised if your plants have some browning leaves or other signs of stress. A slow-release organic plant food such as Holly-tone will provide nutrients as the plant needs it, but a synthetic fertilizer can add to the stress by pushing the plants to grow leaves/ set buds when they really need to be getting their roots established.

Generally speaking, camellias are not plants that need babying, but a move is stressful, so try to keep an eye on your plants over the next year, and check that they don't dry out if rain isn't plentiful.

Love it when the weather cooperates! Camellias are pretty tough, so I'm guessing they'll be okay, but I would try to keep an eye out for problems until you're sure they're settled into their new spot.
