Narrow dinning table

I have a very narrow space for a dinning table. I would like to find or make a table that is about 35" wide only. Since I can not find it in regular stores I am thinking of finding a piece of wood or other kind of material that would make my dinning table a conversation piece....I can buy legs in a store like Home Depot or Ikea. Any ideas out there or projects similar to mine?

Rather than normal legs, how about talking to a metal fabricator about making a frame, and then using recycled-looking wood on it for your table? See Houzz Shop under "industrial dining table" for examples. You might even be able to upcycle an old metal machine base or desk for the support. This would give you storage AND a conversation piece!
