Wall mounting this sink?

We just purchased an almost identical sink (American Standard Lakewell) and want to wall mount it exactly as you've done here. We are running into roadblocks from plumbers and American Standard insisting it can only be done using the cast iron pipe/ p-trap stand going into the floor. But we want to keep the floor clear. What's your trick here for wall mount-only installation? Also--our plumber is trying to find a compatible drain to fit the 3" size so that he could convert it to residential plumbing. Any tips on what you used here? Thanks so much for your help...We are stumped! These adorable wall mount industrial sinks are all over Houzz, but no one is spilling the beans on how to do it!

Dear katesteele, I just updated my post above as the designer emailed me this morning with the spec sheet for the sink used. Looks as though the spec sheet recommends the following accessories for this sink: K-8880, K-8820 (K-8807 may work as well) and K-8892. The sink I purchased was installed yesterday and is just mounted to the wall with the support brackets provided by Gerber. I wanted an open floor below, just as the photo we are both interested in :) Best of luck - this is a tough one!

Have you figured out how to reduce it and how did you wall mount the sink ? Please let me know as I want to buy the gerber sink as well thanks so much

I'm in the same boat. My contractor was able to mount the sink but he can't find the drain part. Anyone have success with the parts listed above? I have the american standard.

I'm purchasing the American Standard Lakewell and want to mount exactly like this. AS says you have to use the 15" p trap to the floor but it's too short for my preference. Did I miss responses to what this p trap is and where it was purchased? thanks!

I recently purchased this sink and it comes with a wall mount bracket. Just be sure to reinforce the wall to accommodate the weight. I plan to use the drain and p trap (to the wall, not floor) recommended for the Kohler Gilford sink. I've looked all over for these answers too so I wanted to share.

Hi - The information regarding the sink has been helpful. Is there a difference between the Gerber sink ( costs less) than the K- Bannon ? Is it the trap to the floor vs wall ?

My plumber was able to use the K8807 drain on the American Standard Lakewell.

Has anyone used the Kohler K-6716-0 with a chrome p-trap and drain like this? If so, what drain did you use with it?

So I bought the Gerber version and I really need to know how to wall mount it. A few people said they figured out how to do it, but have no details. How does one "reinforce" the wall. Please help!

Don't do it!! We spent a fortune trying to figure the 3inch to wall and now it's on the floor and doesn't look at all liked I had hoped :(

Here are the fittings my builder finally found for my Kohler Bannon sink: https://www.flickr.com/photos/shazz/sets/72157671871154084/ It took quite a long time to find this exact fit for the trap and drain, but the parts were not costly.

We installed the American Standard Lakewell as a wall-mount, and that night, the
porcelain cracked right behind the stainless steel rim, apparently from
the strain. AS says it really needs the heavy duty P-trap to support the
weight. But that places the sink at a very low height. Some have been
able to insert a pipe threaded on both ends to add to the height.
Also, American Standard says that if you don't use their p-trap, McGuire
in CT (mcguiremfg.com) makes drains that will fit the Lakewell. AS also makes a white p-trap:

    American Standard
    7798030
    No Color P-Trap

I wanted to write an update, though to date my information is incomplete. I am installing the Kohler Bannon Service Sink, K-6716. OS & B no longer carries the commercial strainer so helpfully listed by Sharon McIntyre. Supreme Metal Products at 1-800-730-5860 is the carrier. I will update with part number and pictures as I go...

Colleen- Were you able to get the part numbers for the drain? Thank you!!

I am installing an American Standard Lakewell sink with the 2" P-trap (with a longer 10" pipe foot) in my laundry room. Can anyone suggest what faucet to purchase; I want something mainly for washing out paintbrushes, filling mop buckets, and occasionally hand washing delicate pieces. Thanks

Hello to all in this thread. Any luck on finding a drain/strainer for the Bannon sink? Any help is appreciated.
