We haven't had any issue at all with the tempered glass outside at all, you will notice it is frosted, but even clear glass would be fine. I would point out that the iron handle gets very hot with direct sunlight on it, which is easily and stylishly solved by wrapping leather or another cool fabric around the handle. We completely enjoyed working with Richard at Creative Metals to bring this gate to life, I highly recommend him at 480.968.5121 or check outu his website www.creativemetalsaz.com. I wish I had a closer picture of the gate, but it mimics the front door, with the narrow panel fixedin place, and the actual opening panel on a pivot.
