I transplanted a mix of imperial and globe artichoke plants outside on March 30, 2015. When the temps dropped below 35 degrees, I covered them. That allowed them to get the required vernalization time to support fruit production. I now have 5 plants in my raised garden, shown in the photo, and 6 plants that I transplanted among my landscaping plants. The photo was taken On May 30, 2015. I am interested in determining if they will bloom and later in the fall, if I can prepare them for the winter so they will survive for next year.

Here is an update of a part of my garden. As you may have seen in previous posts, I was trying to replicate Thomas Jefferson by growing artichokes in Northern Virginia. I tried in 2013 with no success (no artichokes). n This year I have succeeded. I have already harvested 3 artichokes and here is a picture of about 11 more in my raised garden. Also I have attached a puicture of my garlic, ready for harvest and my hardy kiwis. the kiwis are loaded with fruit. The fruit is hard to see in the photo.
