Culinary Ginger Problems

I started growing culinary ginger about two months ago. But as time went by the leaves on it started to dry on the edges immensely and I don't know why, I have grown it inside for all of it's life with temperatures around 73-75 degrees Fahrenheit. I have been giving it direct sunlight also. Not only that, the growing leaves above the main tuber gets stuck in the more mature leaf, how do I prevent that?
