It will not need to be boring. Which color are you going with, shades of white & off-whites. This can be very soothing. For heaven sake, don't paint any wood though. I'm looking at your beautiful baby grand.

To me the paint should be a backdrop. That's one reason I'm not in favor of accent walls in 99% of cases. Choose a color that blends with the tones and undertones of your furniture.

I think a pale gray would be beautiful with your white trim, dark wood floors, and eggplant upholstery.

Add color within the room to add interest....the plum/eggplant color you have in your space would be lovely with so many different colors....navy/light blue/royal blue, yellow/chartreuse, coral/pink/mauve, green, brown. Combine with more neutrals like gray, taupe and/or white. Add patterns and layer in textures. It'll be beautiful!

HI -- You can have an all one color for your home and it's your furniture and décor that makes it not boring . What ever color you end up using ..... please re-move that darn chair rail around the room. You don't need that cutting the wall in half .
