I know - I've always wanted a gazing ball for the garden and the cost has been prohibitive. I can afford the mini-version though!!

Oh, those are wonderful. I especially like the toadstools and the gazing ball. I suspect that Lily is wondering what she is expected to do with them. Glad it was so much fun!

How cute! I have been wanting to make a fairy garden for sometime. Did they give tips on how to keep such a shallow container watered without over watering? How about plant choices? Anything else you can share? I need advice. Plus I too love your gazing ball

Joan, it was very interesting - there is no drainage. She told us to keep them moist - the soil is just packed in there. Just regular soil. She tells us that we will have to aggressively prune them to maintain the shapes. She did them in all kinds of bowls and vessels, even tea cups, which fascinates me. Ours were in pot dishes. But she said to water aggressively.

Thanks for the tips. I am now brave enough to try. While deciding which plants would be small enough, I thought I would put some seedlings in (until they are too big) just to see what it would look like. Off I go... to seek out bowls and vessels. Thanks again.

Nancy, those are so cute, love the gazing balls, really nice touch. Some of the plants look like succulents so I'd watch the watering closely, especially if the containers don't have drainage holes.

Annette, you are as always right - they are a real combination. It will be interesting to see what thrives. Of course, the nursery where we did them is close so they can go back for rehab!!
