I would not worry about it especially the shower is frameless. As long as they are not grouped together ie shower head and fittings, it won't disturb the look.

As long as you don't mind, don't worry about supposed decorating rules. It certainly wouldn't be worth replacing one or the other unless the combo really bothers you. I love how Carolyn phrased it!

Thanks ladies. I'm only planning on living there a year or so, so resales a concern too. It's the second bathroom too. It sounds like everyone so far's in agreement though.

I think a potential buyer would be more impressed with a brand new shower door than an old one that had the same metal finish. I know I would!

That would be my preference too, but the doors brand new, just with a frame. I was actually thinking about swapping the shower fixtures, faucet, and sconce out rather than pay $500 for a new frameless door. But if everybody thinks mixing it will fly, ill probably do that. Like I said, it's the 2nd bathroom too, so unless its going to look odd ill probably go with that.

What size is the door? Brushed nickel fixtures generally cost much more than chrome so it would be a shame to take out expensive faucets and replace them with inexpensive ones just to use the door, maybe you can sell the door on Craigslist and use the money to buy a frameless? If not then maybe get the accessories in the bathroom in a chrome/brushed nickel combo to help them live in harmony
