impatiens root in about 40 seconds .. if you lose some.. but have some good plants .. when they get a bit bigger ... take 2 inch cuttings and stick them in moist media ... and they will probably root ...

are you doing this in a greenhouse.. under lights?? .. give us some facts ... revel in the glory of your success .. it is time to brag ...

I am doing this under lights in my cellar, along with my veggies. So you don't think that the foliage is not as green as my other annuals? Or are they supposed to be like that? They're starting to bloom so maybe I'm just being thrown off by the color.

Everything but the impatiens looks great! The leaves on the impatiens do look quite yellow. Why do you think you've over-watered them? I've grown tons of impatiens from seeds and I have had impatiens seedlings yellow like that if they get too much sun. I suppose there might be a nutrient problem too... not enough nitrogen? I'd also inspect them closely looking for spider mites. :p

Sorry -- I see you've got them under lights. If you have the impatiens very close to the light, I'd back them off. The leaves are turned downward... if they're somewhat limp then I'd believe over or under watering. If they are firm then it tells me they don't like the light conditions they currently have. :)

I didn't expect the impatiens to be light sensitive. Should I move them away from the direct overhead fluorescent lights?
